Xenon, potential fault??
« on: 30 July 2008, 23:34:34 »

When i put my lights on tonight i got a check warning saying headlamp/tail lamp failure.
When i got out to have a look i noticed my o/s headlamp was out :(
I turned the lights off and back on again, this time it illuminated.

Question is. Is it one of them things or is the buld about to fail, ballast unit on its way out or a dodgey switch?????

Is there a common(ish) failure point regarding this??

My previous Omega did that, turning the lights off and on brought the light back on, eventually it didn't come back on, the ballast unit had failed. Don't ask Vx for a price unless you are sitting down :-)

BTW, Xeon is a server class processor made by Intel.  I suspect you mean Xenon, which is a gas that can be put in most bulbs.  So in reality, I suspect you mean HIDs :P

If it is the ballast check what make as my old merc was a bosh unit and I found an outlet in peterborough that was a bosh agent, cost half the price of the stealers., but they ain't cheap.

He he, yip it is! I got a free server a few months back, I was over the moon when I noticed it was a 3.06ghz xeon! :D

Anyway, How do you say 'xeon' and 'xenon'?

Guessing xeon is zeeee-on?  :-X

Anyway.... Xenons, I would go to a scrap yard if it was me, I would guess that the price from vx would be into 100's???
