Iīve noticed that my right xenon doesnīt light up when starting car from cold. Itīs always the same side and iīve changed new bulb to it.
My car has that memory function that turns on the lights when engine is running so thinking that could this be some battery problem. When problem occurs i turn off light few times, it works usually after that.

When car has warmed (engine) this problem hasnīt appeared when starting.

Any ideaīs ??

I'd try and swap over the ballast (igniter, starter, rectifier, square metal box thing mounted to underside of headlight unit!) with the one on the good side and see if the problem changes side, if it does then you need a new ballast pack...

Be aware of the high voltages involved when working on xenon light systems.

I was on about the gas in the bulbs that's used to shorten the power up phase, it's xenon and most people, including the original poster (whom you seem to have ignored) call them 'xenon lights'.
Perhaps we should start calling them 'gas-discharge burners'!? It does sort of trip off the tongue...

Seems that my Omega has similar problems, that during cold the HID is not starting up. After turning the light switch, the bulb ignites. Most probalby the ballast is faulty.

Anybody knows which electronic component becomes old in ballast? Guidleines to repair will help a lot.

HID is a generic term for all sorts of lamps - 'High-intensity discharge' - the bulbs on an Omega (and most HID headlights) are a Metal-halide lamp with Xenon gas to allow useful light output immediately from switch on.

Which make of lamp did you fit?

Some (all?) of the no-name lamps can give problems as described.

Osram or Philips were fitted in the factory and seem to work reliably.

Cheap enough from a breaker on here

Hi

The Phillips bulb became violent and it had also problems with igniting. Once i ignited, then it kept lighted.
After this happening, I bought no-name brand. The bulb work color is 4300K, but on early morning when it is cold, the bulb does not ignite with the first switch.

I have feeling that this is still ballast which cause this problem.

Of course easiest way is to switch bulbs with other side, where OEM Phillips is located. I have to wait the wormed days.
