I tried fitting one about 9 months agao and they dont look great plus there are so many wires coming out of the rear of the thing and not much room in miggy it wont sit snuggly in the dash.

Thats just my view

Too right. Took mine out in the end and sold it. Plus I couldn't use the heater controls with the screen up.No use in this weather.

I have the Carin system in my car and I have seen this:

Is this the right one for my car and can I get it any cheaper?

The changer has a code. It should be on your code card if the changer is original. If not, there are some unlocking chappies about on here and on ebay!

I can understand doing this for a factory look but it does seem a little complicated. The CCRT isn't the greatest of units to start with.

Yes, are you trying to put the unit in with the cage or put the cage in first? I put the cage in first, reached in and carefully moved all the block connectors out of the way. It is a tight fit but it does go. Check also that you haven't distorted the sides of the cage.

Helped a friend install his satnav today. His system had been cut so that there was only part of the loom. We had some reall fun getting it in but the guide was really helpful. When I did mine,it was all complete and I didn't have half the hastle we had but the wiring diagrams and the pics sure did help.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / ABS ECU question
« on: 16 January 2010, 20:30:45 »
I know mine's been playing up and I need a new one but I am looking to sell the car on,so don't want to spend mega bucks. My car is a 1999 T plate CDX 2.5 manual estate .I've been offered a working one from a 1998 CDX 2.5 manual estate for a meagre £15. What's the chance of it being the correct one? ( you can't see the numbers until they are off)

I'd fit it for you for free but you'd have to come to Northants. Lee
