Made me think carefully about being at the scrappy that has!

My local one has 2 sections, one full of cars to be pillaged by the locals, and another section for crushing and crane use. So in that respect it is safer, but still makes you think!

More and more down here have got all the parts on the shelf, they will not allow you to rummage anymore.

Same here. It's the little parts that you have to rummage for that make them so valuable though. Not valuable enough for a scrappie to keep on the shelves but unobtainable (or stupid prices) new.

I wonder if he was wearing a hi-viz... not sure it would have helped in this case, there is a slightly better chance of being noticed. All scrappies should really enforce hi-viz vests for visitors, but most don't. And yes, it is probably just a question of time before public access to scrappies is er... scrapped.
