Omega General Help / Poor air con performance
« on: 16 May 2017, 18:10:42 »
Hi guys, it was 25deg outside today and all air con could do was warm air coming out the wents. Both fans are spinning when AUTO is pressed, both stop when press ECO. Tried vacuum one hour after engine was running , hissing  when I dissconnected vacuum pipe  so not vacuum related.
Should I regass it for a start?
Also, I reset it by holding AUTO and OFF buttons for 5 seconds - to no avail.

Omega General Help / Rear spring?
« on: 09 April 2017, 19:42:24 »
Hi, guys. I've been driving today afternoon trough part of town which has really bad roads, pot holes everywhere, really rubish...When suddenly I heard a loud bang from driver's rear wheel side, like it came from under the car. It could be felt not only heard.
Anyway I suspected backbox but all fine there, then I remembered of rear springs.
Those were replaced two years ago so they shouldn't fail this soon right?
I forgot the spring manufacturer, all I know is they are made in Sweden.

Omega General Help / Exhaust backbox
« on: 17 February 2017, 13:40:19 »
Hi guys, I need some advice. I've found some horse hair coming out of the exhaust last night, pulled out what I could and went to local part shop today. I've been quoted around 80€ for it and a week for delivery.
Does anyone have any recomendation on ebay maybe?
And I would really preffer going for twin pipe exit if 2.5 and 3.0 backbox is the same.
Thanks in advance, Stan

Omega General Help / That's a lot of gunk
« on: 19 January 2017, 08:53:25 »
Hy guys, I know V6 can have some mayo in filler neck in winter time but this much?  :(
I had quite a few short runs  this month...having cam cover leak again after two years and I suspect HBV is leaking again (coolant under transmission when parked).
Anyone else had that amount of mayo in filler neck?

Omega General Help / Bearing noise
« on: 07 August 2016, 06:59:30 »
Hi guys, yesterday I replaced both front bearings - I was certain that was the cause of typical failing bearing noise BUT no...There is still bearing noise coming from somewhere. When I try to find where it comes from it doesn't sound like rear wheel bearing at all - the noise/grinding is constant from the move. It's deep sound like an aggressive tyre tread from under the car and doesn't vary when taking corner. It gets oversounded by the wind/tyre noise when driving faster.
A member gave me an idea it could be diff bearing or a diff itself.....Never had this problem before, how can I test it?
Thanks in advance, Stan

General Car Chat / Recomendations please
« on: 23 July 2016, 08:24:57 »
Hi guys, I would really appreciate any recomendation for manufacturer or ebay seller for front wheel bearing and rear break discs and pads.
I've been at the parts store today and got quoted around 100eur for bearing, around 100 for pair of rear ATE break disc and 30 for pads.
If anyone can recomend anything I'd be really happy.
And it would make my search easier if anyone has part numbers .
Thanks in advance, Stan

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Fuel gauge issue
« on: 21 February 2016, 11:13:08 »
Hi, guys...I recently replaced my cluster panel due to speedo/rpm not working with a cluster of ebay - the only one to match cluster serial number exactly.
Problem is fuel gauge and MID fuel left info show a bit different figures than I was used to.
On old cluster there was many miles between fuel light went off and MID started to show it's usual 50km left warning.
But on this one I get MID warning (MID is from my old panel) as soon after fuel light gets off.
I obviously don't want to try which reading is true....
Anyone knows why is this happening?
Regards Stan

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Instrument panel question
« on: 16 December 2015, 14:14:18 »
Hi guys, my speedo and rpm clusters have died again ....I'm not bothering with those anymore >:(
Does anyone know if RHD omega's dash panel insides woulf be straight fit for my LHD?
As far as I saw on the pics, the position of main connector is on the same place, yours have miles and km speedo markings the only thing different is mileage counter but that doesn't matter for me really.
So would it fit?
Thanks in advance, Stan

Hi guys, I went to car wash today than gave miggy a nice interior cleaning at home and suddenly speedometer isn't working anymore, the same with rpm gauge. No TC/ABS light on, all the other dash lights and gauges working normaly. I tried to push cluster panel , no result. Is there anything else I can try or is it FUBAR? :-[

General Car Chat / Bonnet struts question
« on: 02 August 2015, 19:08:09 »
Hi guys, I replaced boot struts few days ago and it makes a huge difference now. Old ones were deff fubar,  one of them was a dead weight really, other one poor performance.
As for the bonnet....struts hold the weight but I don't get any assistance of them while opening the bonnet. It's not that I can't lift it but shouldn't there be at least some force coming from struts?

The reason I'm asking is they're cheap, 20eur for a pair of boot struts and around 30eur for a pair of boonet struts.
Quite a cheap pattern part and would make some difference IMO.
And are those the same across the range?
Thanks Stan
