LPG Injectors: Valtek Vs OMVL
« on: 13 August 2016, 19:38:36 »

If I do go the route of LPG'ing the 3.2, the two main kits on fleabay are the same bar the injectors.

£329 - Valtek
£339 - OMVL

Full Kit:

ECU STAG-300 ISA2 with wiring loom
Reducer SHARK
Injectors rail REG OMVLx2 3 ohm
Map/vacuum sensor PS-02
Buzzer
Temperature sensor

There is nothing in it price wise really, but what are the OMVL injectors like? I have Valtek on the 2.2, happy with them but with 3.2 need something bit more performance focused with extra horses it has.

Noted  :y

The flebay kits all appear to use this vap  :-\

There is also a lot less availability on the bay with LPG kits now, I've also never found any place cheaper.

Thanks, awesome link.  :y :y :y

The kits as whole don't do stag for 6 pots, but looks like I can build to order, doing 300 ECU + my own VAP choice

Magic jet rings a bell, can't remember if James had issues with them or solved problems.

Also with the filler, was it best to have straight exit or one with 90 degree bend?

The only injectors that solved all the issues were the Keihins that Chris put on in the end. Not cheap, mind.

Valteks weren't too bad but had the high RPM stumble. A rebuild of mine solved that in the end but then one of them got lazy.

The AC injectors can't cope with enough fuelling range to be useful on an Omega. It'll either be lean at high revs or won't idle properly IME.

Magic jet were OK IIRC  :y  I think I was lucky... Mine idles ok (most of the time) and doesn't go lean. But it was more by luck than anything else I believe.

Get the gold reducer... For £10 you know it covers you.

Filler... Depends where you are fitting it but I think the 90 degree one is better :-\

Thanks LD  :y

So rather go OMVL than Magic?

I'm now looking at injector nozzles, I remember various discussions on this as some were too narrow/too wide. What was the tweaked size in the end that worked? Maybe little fatty knows best on this from his 3.2 conversion.

You don't need anything more than a basic M6 nozzle. These'll do fine:

Might even have a tapped V6 manifold in the garage you can have. Haven't looked at the "LPG bits" pile for a few years now.
