Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Speedo/instrument cluster?
« on: 31 August 2020, 18:23:31 »
Just wanted OOF’ers opinions on the instrument cluster?
In the process of buying/changing one.
So will a 160 speedo (Must be 2.6/3.2) from a 99 omega fit a 2001 3.2?
Is it just plug and play or is there something different on the speedo between the 2yrs which will prevent it from slot in/working?
Not fussed about the MID as dont use that anyway. Any help will be appreciated  :y

Car Parts, bits For Sale & Wanted / WANTED - v6 ABS/ECU unit
« on: 04 November 2015, 23:49:55 »
I think i need to go down the route of finding a abs/ecu unit, as jumpy speedo still hasnt resolved.
Think read somewhere they have to be from similar vehicles, so that would be a 3.2.
So if anyone has any lying about eating dust, throw it over to me.  :y

Omega General Help / Crackling Speedo
« on: 03 November 2015, 12:21:46 »
Made a new title topic just for future referencing. Some might have read my previous post about having a eratic/jumpy speedo. Initial thought was abs ecu, but neither abs/tc lights were on. Also swapped speedo panels still made no difference.

Anyway today jumped in started the car and hear some funny crackling noise from the cluster unit area lasted few seconds, and needle stopped jumping around. Drove 10 miles perfectly fine, come to park it again hear the crackling noise (managed to record it on vid) then the speedo went bonkers again? Checked ground connections/voltage all seemed fine.
Has anyone else experienced this? Could it be both the speedo's i have are faulty, it just now seems like its something electrical more then mechanical.

And if there is a way to upload vid let me know, il put it up  :y

Omega General Help / ABS ECU help or advice please
« on: 30 October 2015, 11:27:11 »
Ok Yesterday (after 3months of sitting) took out the mig for a drive and first few miles didnt notice it then out of nowhere notice the speedo has a mind of its own when driving, rev still working fine. Initial thought was instrument panel needs a nudge, after a few whacks still nothing. Removed & cleaned connections, still have same problem so dug up another intrument panel to see if current one is faulty, but nope still doing same.
Reason why im now having to point at the abs ecu is i have noticed the odd heavy steering, but then again read up if abs ecu fault then the light comes on, in my case it doesnt stay on.

Any help what it could be, or anything else i could try will be greatly appreciated  :y

Car Parts, bits For Sale & Wanted / WANTED- 3.2 Speedo
« on: 29 October 2015, 19:03:38 »
Hi, as the title states after a v6 instrument panel/speedo. Would prefer something with a low mileage sub 100k. A working tried and tested one will be great, as mines started to jump about.
Ps tried removing panel and refitting again no luck, so new panel is a trial to see if panel faulty or something else.
Thanks in advance guys

General Discussion Area / Sky HD Box
« on: 20 August 2014, 23:30:24 »
Anyone aware of what size Hard Drive is in a samsung sky HD box? Or been through the route of changing its hard drive? I have looked online, most places say either 320gb or 500gb. But il be sticking in a 1tb in there, so thats not my worry, but what most fail to mention and what i want to know is wether its a 2.5" or a 3.5" so i know which to buy? Thanks in advance guys

After a electric water pump, thats known to be working silently  :). (Sits on the radiator fan cowl)
Also after a screen washer pump with a bit more Oomph.
Forget spraying the windscreen it just about drips out the nozzles. And i have checked/clean the rubber filters for the pump. So its definitely the pump more than a dirty filter.
Thanks in Advance
