Been around previously, but needs a new front end now...

Certainly an interesting alternative to a Monaro 8)

LPG conversion would be frowned upon... Tank should never be mounted lengthways for security in an accident, although I think it is only an advisory and not gospel.

The Aussies did some nice variations on the omega. Besides the truck above, the Commodore VZ is a beast, with the 5.7L engine that came from a Chevy camero, the one that ended up in the Monaro and the VXR8. Really nice facelift on the body panels too.

The only things the Omega and the Holden VW/VX/VY/VZ Commodore have in common are front suspension top mounts, rear donut bushes, one trailing arm bush, some bulbs, possibly the door skins and a relay or two...

Sure they look broadly similar, but they are most certainly not the same. It does rather grip my shit when people don't appreciate the differences.

Also Holden is 1" wider. Which makes all the difference when fitting a v8.

Well in my defence I was led to believe that Vauxhall/Opel supplied the chassis and Holden did their bit. A bit like Saab and the Vauxhall Vectra.
Can I steer you to this link?https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:1997-1999_Holden_VT_Commodore_Acclaim_sedan_06.jpg
Or this?https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:1997_Holden_Commodore_(VT)_Acclaim_station_wagon_(2015-07-03).jpg

I agree. They look similar.
As for the extra inch.
Show me a man who wouldn't have an extra inch.
Ba-ha ha.
