Daz did say Mark did the tech 2 stuff including autobox upgrade before I bought it so I am leaning towards a blown speaker, but that is only my very limited opinion.

Hi all I have just been out to check it and it reads as follows :

CCR2006  Philips ( on the cassette flap )
Then has the buttons in a circle ( split in the ways ) with Tape, Tuner, CD .

So what does that mean ? Is it the right head unit . Thanks for all the help .

Dave

Hi all , just got my new facelift ( my second Mig) when I play a cd / radio, ( my car has BOSE and the flap in the cassette door say ???? 6000 & Philips I think ) unit at any thing higher than a 1 / 3 sound  level , I get a loud thumping distortion , as I said poblem is 99 % bass, when I play anythig loud it just distorts . I have played around with buttons on the face lift but still got this problem. Any help as always would be much appreciatted

1) Leds as stated have a narrow frontal area of illumination, which makes them ideal as indicator lights on electrical equipment. The lateral output is zilch, which is what we need for the dashboard illumination. This same problem occurs when you try to convert the Technics sl1200 turntable illumination. the fix here is to use very small blue leds mounted at 90degs on a small sub circuit board. Might need major surgery to illuminate from behind the dials.
About 25 years ago I used a blue plastic perspex filter on my Vx Royale with limited results.

2)Blue is the worst color for an instrument panel. Red (and green) allow the eyes the re-focus more quickly when looking alternately from distance to near, and back to distance. Notice how "fuzzy" the blue can appear on VW's.
Ask why no other manufacturer uses blue.
Now why do you think that is.????

3) HU's used to have alternate color illuminations. Denon did this years ago.

Blue was cool. agree now a bit "gay"   ::) is white the new blue?[/quote]
you will have to ask Loo Knee , he is the master of colours , that boy can mix and match anything , especially to go with Yellow clogs apparentley  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I think I would either try a new sounder from a scrappy, or do without. I must admit, on my last Mig, I disconnected the sounder, I suspect a lot of us have done so.::)
Yes that worked for me , after a lot of help from pics on the forum  :y

Morning all , the switch on my side is very intermittant , sometimes comes on 1 st go sometimes you have to do it 10 times , I have no  knowledge of anything mechanical, so what do you people suggest , new switch or maybe loose wire on the back ? Have to add when it does come on it works fine . Many thanks , Dave
