Mini needs a new clutch
« on: 03 February 2019, 18:56:57 »

Hi all.

My friends Mini needs a new clutch. Does anyone know if this is a big job and how much it's likely to cost? It's a 2002 Cooper model.

Many thanks.

The real cost is in the labour; 5 to 6 hours is the suggested time plus a couple of hundred quid for the parts. It's well into four figures at Mini, although no one in their right mind would be taking a 16 year old car to the dealer for a clutch. Dual mass flywheel too, so that could easily add to the cost.

Daughter just paid £420 for a clutch in a 2001 Bini Cooper - @ 98K

Given that it's a petrol, I VERY much doubt if its got a Dual Mass Flywheel

They used LUK620323900 clutch kit and 5 hours of labour.

Kellets Garage L37 8EG if you are local.

It was the third they'd done since Christmas, so they are obviously practised at the job.

Don't think Bradford on Avon is local to you.

A dual mass is listed for an 02 cooper but does say if fitted so it seems not all have it
