The Renault is a great all rounder and dustbin and is used regularly to take rubbish (family heirlooms) to the tip.

Plus there are no leather seats and door cards to scratch. :y

Changed the dead battery in the BMW for a new one.

The car promptly decided it couldn't tell if the roof was closed or not and disabled all of the windows (with them stuck half down) and the boot opener. FFS.

I just had to drag ~130Kg of 6' tool chest (which is still on its delivery pallet) across the garage floor to move it out of the way so I could put the car in there before it rains..
Beemers, eh?  ;D

Your BMW probably reported back to BMW HQ that you fitted a non genuine BMW battery and they sent your car a virus to make you go to a dealer for repairs  :P

;D Probably .. although it's not new enough to have telematics (or .. actually, it might be, there's an "SOS" button). At least I bought a Bosch battery, can't it just be happy that the volts are Teutonic!?

I notice on my whiteboard in the garage (I need to scribble stuff down, seeing as I'm old), the Battlebus has a whole heap of shite that needs doing.

If only I could find it

you have to appeal to the gods of teutonic engineering spirit of fair play and forgiveness. Which they don't have.

And you've already proved yourself not worthy by attempting to fix your own car. Suicide by sucking on the tailpipe of a VAG diesel is mandatory.

Drove the CDX estate for the first time in a week..... so much spray and drizzle on the roads  :(  Noticed on the way home in the dark, the headlight washer not working on the offside. Must be a blockage, as nearside working ok. Bumper needs to come off in the Spring anyway, so it can wait until the better weather.

Went to Halfrauds to get OAT concentrate antifreeze (the pink girly stuff)
"we don't stock it, can get some for tuesday "  :(
so, following TB's example , I walked  :o (even though there's 2 cars outside) to the local independent parts factors ,got 5 ltrs for less than 12 quid  :y
part drained Mrs Builders coolant and added the concentrate to ensure it was strong enough for the impending predicted zero kelvin ice-age  :y
