remember elite mirrors are different to others, so you'll be trying to make 1 good from bits you have.

mirror glass was £35 for last one I bought (prefacelift)

What are the differences? I know they are heated (hence have two wires in the loom to power the element) and have the wide angle view but what else is different?

The used one i've bought from eBay will be fine for now and has the correct colour cover, so i'm just looking for a heated mirror glass to retrofit into this in the future.

Cheers

What is the back plate like?

If it is in one piece stick a Halfords sticky over the top

Nothing left of the mirror glass (apart from the scratches on the drivers window)

Managed to get a 2nd hand mirror with the right colour cover from eBay. It's not heated so does anyone know if the two wires will still be present and it's just a case of putted a heated glass in?

What's involved with replacing a wing? Do you just remove all the bolts and it drops off or are there some welds?

Mirror - make a good one from 2

Wing all bolt on

Thanks Martin

Only salvageable parts from the mirror are the motor and the loom. :(

Remnants of mirror

Note the torn metal  :o

Wing - thankfully only minor

Does anyone know if these wires will exist on the loom for a none heated mirror and I just need to change the glass?

Yes I certainly did! Keep seeing those antlers scraping along the drivers window.

Omega now needs complete drivers mirror (The actual metal innards were torn like card - part of the metal is still bolted to the door!), new wing or wing pushing back into shape and a T-Cut.

Stag (huge antlers) has a limp and probably star silver Z147A markings.

I had no more verge left to manouvre out of way further as I already had two wheels on the grass and if he'd taken one more step I think he'd have stuck his antlers through the windscreen.  :o

Anyone know any good bodyshops in Warwick or Worcester?  :'(

That is a hell of a lot of work done on a car that has only a mileage in the  70ks; new head gasket on a car not renowned for those failings?! ::) ::)  At a price of just £500+. ::) ::)

Just a little  suspicious, probably totally wrong ::) ::) ::) ::), but I would suggest just checking the MOT records of the car's mileage.  Go to:

http://www.motinfo.gov.uk/internet/servlet/ECHIDDispatcher

and once you can get all the details required check it out.

 :y :y :y

The 2.0 (and hence the 2.2's) can suffer HG failure at those mileages if the coolant hasn't been changed regularly ...........and if it's been dealer serviced then the coolant won't have been changed regularly.  ::)

Watch the cheap bulbs on eBay, they have a habit of not starting up intermittently.

Corsa C has mostly this style :

It uses the same switches as the Omega 3 button facelift and fails in the same way.

Looks similar to the Meriva one as well (but then Meriva is bits of Corsa and Astra IIRC!)

I think this version of TIS they go on about is their own version, I can't see GM licensing out a version for them.

Apart from the real deal Tech II, I bet Opelscan is far better, it's read every system on all the VX's i've tried it on (with the exception of the NCDR Head Units and CID's).
