Omega General Help / Servicing advice - Can I pick your brains??

Having just had my MV6 serviced, the mechanic had some bad news for me. Apparently there was a lot of oil in the cylinders when the spark plugs were taken out and their advice was that the rocker cover gaskets had blown and needed replacing. The new spark plugs weren't fitted and were given to me in a bag.

My query is this, do people think that the gaskets need replacing and how urgent is it. If so how much work / cost would you expect from a decent mechanic?

Unfortunately, my knowledge of engines is very limited and I always worry that I am an easy target for being conned.

Any thoughts / guidance would be very much appreciated...!

Omega General Help / MV6 Rear Suspension Springs

You can probably tell by now that I'm no mechanic, but following a failed MOT, my mechanic tells me that a rear suspension spring has broken and will cost £90 to replace to get the MOT pass. Furthermore he recommends that I get both sides done at the same time (double the money).

Does this sound right guys?

Omega General Help / I need coolant on tap...!

My coolant alert came on, so I had the car serviced (yeah, I know - it was kwik-fit!), and the alert went away. Days later, it came on again so I got them to top it up again. I then put a litre in and the alert went away again, the next day, its back!!!

I'm guessing I've got a fairly major problem...!!!

I haven't noticed any leak under the car at all though.

I'd be grateful for any advice, and details of anybody in the Plymouth area who is good on omegas.

I'm not sure if anybody knows how to 're-wrap' a rear blind as mine has gone a little saggy and doesn't fully go back into its recess???

I'm Ade, I love driving but I'm not very good with mechanics and stuff...

I'm on my second Omega, the first one was written off after 6 months, a nirk reversed into it...!

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Sidelight bulb replacement

Hiya folks - I haven't had my Omega very long and I've never used a forum before either, I'd really appreciate some advice guys...

My MV6 Elite has had led sidelights fitted and one has blown. I'm trying to replace them both back to the original lamps. I'm hoping the ones I've bought are the right ones, but I can't get the existing ones out yey. I can't figure out wether they come out the back of the cluster fitting or do I remove the lens and go in the front?

I  would really welcome some help...
