Mask the outline and use some black Camcover sealant :y

I had pretty much the same problem. Used some black silicon sealant stuff in a tube from Halfords. Seems ok  :y

I managed to borrow a tap set and have drilled out the old aerial thread and replaced with new one,now the question is what length of aerial can i get away with ? Original was about a foot long can i use one of these stubby type about 5-6 inches ? Thanks

You can get a replacement base rubber, problem is they are a VW item, not expensive and do fit nicely, you can get to the base from inside, just need to drop the headlining a bit after you have removed the rear courtesy light.
I'll have a look later on for the link, I seem to remember it came from ABS site many years ago.

Dont bother with a Bee Sting, for best reception use a proper VX one, its a tuned 1/4 wave at the FM Band wrapped around a rod to make it smaller in length.

Well popped in to Bayliss GM dealers for a mast after passing my reg number he quoted me a staggering £35! WOW!!!
