Omega General Help / Diff Pinion Oil Seal Change

Hi All,

Im gonna be replacing my seal on staurday and i have a couple of questions:

What size is the diff pinion nut? do i need a deep socket to fit on to it?
when replacing the diff pinion nut, is there a torque setting i need to set it at? or is it a case of line up the punch marks?

Omega General Help / 2.5 G/box on 3.0?

After much searchin ive not been able to find a 3.0 donor car so im lookin towards a 2.5. Would a 2.5 manual gearbox be strong enough for the 3.0?

Omega General Help / Part Number Required

Does anyone have the part number for the 4 pin brake switch please for cruise comtroll? I have the module and stalk fitted so i just need the switch and hopefully not needing a tech 2 (fingers crossed).

Omega General Help / Port polishing/ Gas Flowing????

As per the tittle im in 2 minds to have it done. The car will be coming off the road next year for a load of changes, ill be doing the cam belt etc so i was wandering if its worth going the whole hog and whipping the heads off for skimming, port polishing and gas flowin.

Also peace of mind of having the head gaskets replaced is pushing me to do it.

I have 99% of the tools for the job, bar a torque wrench. Ill be buying one of these anyways.

Any input would be greatfully appreciated

Has anyone had any of the following done on their 3.0:

NGK Iridium Spark Plugs
Uprated 4 bar Fuel Pressure Regulator
Moddified OE Throttle Bodies
Cool Thermostat
Lightweight Alloy Bottom Pulleys
8.5mm Magnecor Leads

or anything else? I already have an induction kit fitted and planning on a pair of sports cats and full stainless cat back exhaust system.

Omega General Help / Parcel shelf???

Is there a parcel shelf with speaker grilles (aside from the big long one at the back)? Reason i ask is, im gonna fit some 6x9s onto the back shelf and need the holes for them rather then cuttin up my own shelf.

Has anyone already done this if so do you have any pics?

Omega General Help / 3.0 Autobox Oil leak

Hi all, ive just found out i have a gearbox oil leak, its coming from the passenger side and ending up on the exhaust ( thats how i found out..... ahhh the smell of burning gearbox oil, yummy NOT) I just aint got a clue wat steps i should take.

I tow a caravan around but wont be doing so anymore this year. So there wont be a strain of that.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated

Omega General Help / 3.2 Worth Buying?

I currently own a 3.0 MV6 auto 00 plate facelift, within the next few months i may be able to get a new car. I was looking to get as last of the Omegas as poss a 3.2 MV6 manual on a 03 plate. Basically i want to know if a 3.2 is any better then the 3.0?

Hello there, My names Jim, im 27, i currently own a 3.0 MV6 facelift and i love her to bits. Always loved the griffin, previous car to Meg was a 2.6 GSI Vectra, yummy car that was. I straight swapped it for my Meg and have never looked back

. With not been in an Omega for such a long time, i'd forgot how comfy they are so after 30 mins driving her to my mates after picking her up i thought i was sat at home on the leather setee lol.

Maybe lookin in the not so distant future to upgrade to the 3.2 (manual if i can find one).

So, a BIG Hello to you all, see you on the boards and hopefully at the meets.

Just gauging interest if anyone needs anything from a 2.2dti silver estate X plate.

Full grey leather non memory £70
alloys (2 good tyres and 2 worn) £50

Car runs but cuts out after around 80 miles then restarts and does another 80, suspected fuel pump. Car otherwise is in excellent condition for 260,000 miles. Car will be scrapped soon so if you need anything just ask.

Full car can be bought for £400 ono

Recent oil change and changed to spin on filter

Lots of history

Windscreen does need replacing due to a crack.
Rear arches slightly rusty
Couple of scuffs on front bumper and a couple of small scratches
Front Brakes may need replacing soon

The car overall is in excellent condition and will be very missed.
