« on: 06 February 2024, 18:08:05 »Having walked 2 miles to the dentist to have a tooth out, I was told I needed a tooth specialist, and the dentists surgery didn't have any, so need to be referred. So I walked 2 miles home again.Just go private for that particular problem, Jaime. You don't have to stay with the private dentist, and I can't see one extraction being that expensive.
Its been going on since October, and I've lost count of the number of temporary fillings this tooth has had - including 3 on Friday alone - whilst they play ping pong with whoever the supposed tooth specialist is who keeps rejecting the referral.
How hard can it be?
Last time I went for a check up, the young lad said I needed to see the hygienist. What? You send schoolchildren to see the hygienist when they're not brushing their teeth properly, not 70 year old men. They are skint, and will do anything to get a few bob out of you. Annual checkups don't cut the mustard. I didn't make an appointment and, if he pushes me next time, I'll tell him to shove it. There is a private dentist just around the corner, and he doesn't insist on regular visits. Toothache=tooth out at my age.

« on: 05 February 2024, 22:15:04 »As the opposite of what has pissed me off...I'm finding a lot of ebay purchases are delivered quickly recently by Royal Fail ,some orders are being delivered by Amazon vans too
Ordered a very expensive USB charger from the Gay of E at 7pm (Sunday). Arrived by noon today (Monday). Suitably impressed.
It doesn't always go well though , I ordered a brand new 500 GB SSD , a crappy 1 TB spinny toshiba external drive arrived ,had to disk part clear it to get it recognised (to find out how old it was etc) 2019 complained and said send a refund ,but the seller insisted I return the crappy EWASTE spinny drive which meant going to the post office
Check that they didn’t charge you double due to a software glitch.
I didn't have to pay , I asked for a pre paid return label
I did cost me time though

Lidl and Aldi do often sell a selection of tools for breaking and entering, stealing catalytic converters , copper etc ,
and also a good selection of "stabbing each other" kit
they probably want you to struggle past them , so they can steal your wallet or purse, mobile phone
We used to occasionally like a relaxing walk round a car boot sale in the warmer months, but it's like walking round a dodgy market in a foreign country now that the tour rep said "don't go there"
