I love unistrut!

Not in a physical way you understand ;)

Built myself an engine stand, bar the actual mount as I don't get the engine until tomorrow, what do you think! My new angle grinder made short work of it :)

He he! Big boys' meccano!

I've got an engine stand you could borrow if you like though....

What's this engine you're getting then? Don't tell me the 2.5 has let you down? Or is this the start of a project?

This is the start Kevin, my 2.0L DOHC is being picked up tomorrow, along with the rest of the Sierra - I shall be pulling it all apart over the next 6 months and preparing everything properly, giving me time to save up for module 1 of which ever sierra based kit I decide on - at the moment I'm leaning towards MK, but Tiger are still in the running, along with RH..

I can't wait to get cracking!

Excellent news. DOHC Jellymould ought to have all the bits you need. Disks all round IIRC, probably an MT75 box.

The DOHC engine is not the most commonly used lump but it's got reasonable grunt. If you see yourself wanting to tune it you might be better off picking up a Zetec instead, as there is far more support for tuning it, and you'll be about 30hp up before you even start. If you're cheeky you could amend the V5 of the donor vehicle with another engine number before you break it so you can still get an age-related plate ;-)

Cheers,

Kevin
