They all ought to have got together on this from the off to at least present some kind of united front rather than all the political points scoring they've been going in for. However be that as it may the EU were never going to "give" anything.

So the step daughter who bought a 6yr old Meriva for more reliability over the 20yr old stuff she used to run[and which then promptly broke]signed up to Economy Energy the day before they went bust :-X :-X I haven't a clue what happened to her as regards another supplier.

If looking at an auto try to find out if/when the 'box fluid was changed, they take different[more expensive] fluid to the Dexron stuff the Omega uses.Rear suspension should be self levelling using Nivomat dampers which are expensive but owners on the forum say they can safely be changed in ones as opposed to in pairs,or of course like the Omega can be changed to "ordinary" dampers and springs.XC70 while essentially the same car sits higher and is the AWD version.

My V70 is what's known as a Phase 1[built up to 2000 I believe]they'll carry slightly less than the earlier 7/8/9 series cars, but still a respectable amount.I find it very comfortable. The front wheel drive layout doesn't bother me as I don't really notice a difference in normal day to day driving. All[except possibly the much newer versions]got the 5 cylinder-ex Audi/VW?-engine even the diesels in a variety of power outputs. The petrols were 140[mine],170 in n/a guise and the T5/T5R at 200+ bhp, diesels were 163 and 185bhp I believe. All had DMFs but the autos gained a reputation as being a bit flaky[don't know how deserved that is as mine is a manual.I think they're pretty good on fuel for what they are.Would I have another? Well while I'd sooner have a S80 because I prefer saloons yes I'd have no qualms about having another V70.In the roughly two and a half years I've had mine I've spent approx.350 on it and that includes 4 tyres. As others have said not the most inspiring drive but then that's not what it's for.

An ongoing saga I'm afraid! She[the step daughter]told me it was to go to the local Vx stealers so that's where it went only to be told a couple of days later that they didn't in fact have an account with the warranty company,so we dragged it back to her flat.Several phone calls to the warranty company themselves[getting passed from pillar to post]and they finally-this week-came up with a garage chain who do have an account with them,so tomorrow it's off to.....Halfords Autocentre :o :o What could possibly go wrong :-X :-X I can see me finishing up having to read up on repair procedures for the 1.4 Ecotec engine. :'(

Did a couple of tip runs for step granddaughter and then chucked a medium size chest freezer in the back and took that to step daughters.Back to doing more tip runs for them later today. At this rate I'm going to have to clean it :o :o All this in the V70 and not the Elite saloon :D
