I would rather have an E class petrol hybrid estate, and he wants an SUV, and fancies the F-Pace, but is it any good? :-\

I believe it is an SUV.
Friend is trading in his 2 yr old Lexus RX, and having extolled the wide experince on here, hoped someone might know something about them. :y

I was paying 60 a month for my water when it was metered in my last house, 3 beds, 1 bathroom. This house, 4 beds, 2 bathrooms has no meter, 36 a month.
I'm going to resist as long as I can.
Sounds excessive, did you have a leak?  :o :o :o In our 5 bed detached with only two of us, with 2 bathrooms + 1 en-suite, kitchen, utility with washing machine (used daily it seems) and dishwasher, cloakroom, fish pond that requires frequent top-ups in this weather. We do only shower daily, rather than baths.
Metered water is 20 per month.
I was lucky enough to have my meter fitted internally immediately after the rising main. ::)
Wifey fills the bath every day  ::)

'Nuff said. :-X
If you tell her its costing X per month perhaps she will reconsider. ???
I tried, Chris. But I got short shrift and I'm getting to the age where I want/need a quiet life.  :)

Understood. :y

New frame required Chris. If it has opening vents they can be re-fitted. Installed by a company???????????

Yep, local small window and door company. I expect he will change it when I speak again, he is due to contact me to deal with it. It only has a transom, I persuaded him not to fit one with the vents, although I believe they are now required. :y

Such a purchase would be an unnecessary indulgence though.

Mrs Opti already has the envious choice between a 15 year old Corsa and a 10 year old Signum. :)
new coloured seat covers and a fresh magic tree air freshener for the corsa
job done  :y

Thanks for all your comments. Herewith a better pic which shows how ugly it looks.
Jimmy, I've tried to measure the diags, but v.diff with a tape measure, however it certainly appears to be out.:y

General Discussion Area / Any window fitting experts on OOF?
« on: 19 July 2018, 19:17:52 »

This frame is in a new window, just fitted this week, and is misaligned, such that the glazing bead cannot sit flush with the frame, in turn leaving gaps at each end of the bead, and it looks much worse in real life. This is a window fitted this week in a new aperture in our dining room. It immediately catches the eye when you look at the window.
I would like to reject it as unsuitable. Any experts on here?

radio works (had to put the code in the cdr500  as it has a brand new battery )
roof ariel was missing ,but the replacement was about 4 delivered
still gets radio 1 fine till the ariel arrives , much to the annoyance of the zaf owner/family member
(who's over 70 ,listens to local radio shyte, rather than what noises his car is making  :()

SOP for us pensioners. ::)

I don't know what "SOP" is  :-\ guessing not good  :-\
If you found my comment offensive , I'm sorry  :(
I was not trying to disrespect ALL c̶o̶f̶f̶i̶n̶ ̶d̶o̶d̶g̶e̶r̶s̶ older drivers , just my relative
who drives back from the clutch cowboys second failed attempt, listening to the radio  ::)
rather than  what noise the clutch and gearbox are making

Yep, 'normal' for us, with the volume control set to: 'Auto increase to drown out unwanted bearing or other potential disastrous noises.' :y

,the crapasso is dead)

Have the shower of shit that ruined it been taken to task yet ::)

all in hand , got an independent report  :y awaiting response from clutch cowboys
we have to be polite ,patient , follow procedure

to be honest , i'd be much happier working on this zaf than the crapasso anyway
of the many crapassos i looked at the other day as a replacement , all had welded or holed cills and other issues , much shaking of my head , sucking through my teeth , swearing  :-X
so i said ,in no uncertain terms ," BUY THIS VAUXHALL ZAFIRA " even though it says opel on the history  ;D

Its one of the lowest spec cars I've had for many years, including the leased Rover 400s she used to get.

I shoved a NCDR1100 in mine so at least I can add satnav to the list, purely because I had it laying around, and the cdr500 needed a code ;D
