General Discussion Area / Windows 2000 Help!!!
« on: 10 July 2017, 12:35:29 »
Ok...  So I don't have an omega any more but I know there are some very clever IT people here so I thought I would ask!

I have a dedicated machine running windows 2000 and its connected to a scanner - updating it to something more recent is out of the question due to the software running on it and to be honest works just fine in any case.  However I need this connected to the network BUT clearly I don't want it connected to the internet.  is there anyway I can nobble the internet whilst keeping the intranet alive.  my router is a basic one supplied by plusnet business and I doubt it has anything in it to do the job so I think I will need to do something within windows - but what!

Any ideas please.

General Discussion Area / help with a power supply
« on: 03 August 2016, 09:44:16 »
I know there are some exceedingly clever people on here so here goes.

The power supply for my laser machine went pop in a rather spectacular fashion and it looks as though the fusible link went pop.

I have a new power supply on route however I want to see if it was just a fluke that made it go bang or if its terminal.  can I replace that fuse and try again and if so what with.  I can't find anything online that resembles what it once was.

The rebel in me says just link it out with a bit of copper wire but seeing how the thing went pop I rather dread the consequences of my actions if I did that.  I also realise that its probably a hiding to nowhere but you never know and if it holds then I have a spare power supply for the future.

I have uploaded some pictures for you to have a look at.

Omega General Help / Rear Springs - X reg 2.5
« on: 02 November 2007, 10:20:12 »
Hi all,
Long time viewer first time poster as they say!!!.  I need to change both my rear coil springs on my Omega and I have looked at the maintenice guide that was written by Marks_DTM however its seems the fixings for the lower shock are different to whats on mine.  After removing the lower bolt, in therory it should just pop off - however on mine it seems as though there is a mounting tube that goes through the bottom mount and there isnt enough give in the shock to remove it.  What am I missing do I need to undo the top mount as well?
