Hi all, I wonder if anybody could help?
I have had an Omega CD 2.5 (1999) for seven years and very happy with it too!
6 months ago,  though,  I found the  battery was flat and the indicator switch was on. So the first question is........Can the battery go flat with the switch on and ignition off?
More recently I found the battery flat again, called out the RAC who sold me an RAC battery. Three weeks ago THAT battery went flat. The RAC give me another battery (no charge) that, three days ago went flat.  I charged  that battery myself and when putting it back in place  found the radio light was left on.  My second question is..........can leaving the radio switch on over night or days flatten the battery, or is the problem more sinister and I could have an electric leakage in the system?
Any insights about this problem

Newbie Welcome Area / Driver's Door Lock
« on: 11 September 2016, 13:33:12 »
Hi there to all OMF's

I have a 1999 Omega CDX with 63,000 miles on the clock and I am aiming to return and maintain the car to as pristine condition as I can.  Recently I have had the bodywork organised and am putting the vehicle in for a complete liquid change in the autumn.

There is however a niggling problem with the driver's door locking.  As I use the fob to lock all doors, the driver's door does not operate.  Similarly, to unlock all the doors , the driver's door button stays firmly down.  I have had to use the technique of opening the offside passenger door while all other doors are closed then press the driver's button down to lock the car.  To open the locked car I have done the procedure in reverse.
Is the problem with the door lock motor or is it to do with the central locking mechanism?
I would welcome any information as to the best way to deal with niggle.

Newbie Welcome Area / Coding in 600 series Philips Radio
« on: 13 March 2016, 13:30:51 »

Hi there all Omega Forum Members

I am a newbie on the system and this is my first message since joining last October.
Had a fabulous day last Oct on the High Wycombe 'day' and am coming to the May meet if it is still on.
Recently I changed my battery and then needed to recode the Philips 600 Radio.
I misread a digit on the code card and mistook an 8 for a 3.
I am now down to the 7th. try on the little screen and when ever I press AS and turn on the radio it stays on number 7 and does not change to CODE 10  ---- ready to put in the code.
Has anybody any idea how I can get beyond the number 7.
I know that at some point after several tries the radio will lock out but I feel I am not there YET!

Please can anyone help me.
