As title - removed from my MV6 with intention of turning into sofa.
I'm downsizing before a house move, so need gone.

I get round the country (Derby area usually), so delivery is a possibility - but I will be in works van, on works time, so won't be able to hang about.

Otherwise, collection from LS10/LS25

As above.
Came out of my '98 mFL MV6  :'(

I was going to convert to a three piece suite, but plans change  :-\

Front seats are in good nick, back seats have a couple of issues - the push release doesn't work, and the edge of the leather has been detached in an attempt to repair.

There are no airbags/seatbelt tensioners - I removed them when I scrapped the car.
The seat heaters and electric adjusters DID work - two years ago.

Collection from Leeds, LS10, or I might be able to deliver a reasonable distance for diesel.

Looking for £200?

I'll consider offers tho.

General Discussion Area / Twelve months on
« on: 11 August 2014, 00:31:29 »
It's now been twelve months since I bought the lexus.

18,000 miles done

service items:£140 (oil/filters) transmission fluid - £60.

new battery:£45
Tyre: £60

other costs: brake light bulb : £2 (must have been a dodgy batch, cos original only lasted 16 years!)

on top of the £600 I paid for it.

in related news, my 6 pts come off in september, and my insurance drops from 1100 quid to 500  :)

On my 16 y/o Transit SWB !!!
That's the second year in a row no welding needed  :o :o :o

Lexus is due soon.  ::)

I've just bought a pallet of 4ft wide x 7ft (ish)off-cuts of lino... (about 60 rolls for 8 quid  ;) )

There's enough of a particularly nice pattern of an off-white tile effect to cover the wall of my kitchen + enough of a sparkly black effect for the bathroom walls + floor.

so...
The plan is to glue them to 9mm sheets of ply with bostik (? or something else? ) then fasten the ply to the walls with construction adhesive - perhaps, in the bathroom, with 50mm expanded polystyrene insulation behind, with battens.
I plan on sealing the gaps with flexible sealer - which I have to match the "grout" lines in the black - which was how the wet room floor was sealed at my mums.

Is this idea do-able?

I don't do tiling or wallpaper, so it's got to be panels of some type.
I *was* going to go with 8x4 sheets of plastic cladding (at 30 quid a sheet) but it's only available in white at that price - nearer 50 quid a sheet in black.

it's not going near the cooker!

General Discussion Area / remote desktop software
« on: 17 March 2014, 18:40:53 »
I'm wanting to remotely control a computer from another room via my home LAN - but have the display on both a local monitor (laptop), and on the remote computer - or even better if I can swap between one or the other (or both)
The inbuilt remote desktop thing in XP doesn't allow dual displays (AFAICT), although it does allow sound to be split.

Can anyone suggest an alternative that will?
If it could run on a raspberry pie, that would be better still.

Thanks

General Discussion Area / OOF courier service request please?
« on: 26 February 2014, 11:08:43 »
As some will know, MrsEgg left me :(
So I'm a bit short of cash, and furniture :( :(
I have my camping gear, and a house, so not too bad  :y
But...
I need a sofa - I have the equipment to make a TG-style seat
TB is offering a black leather rear seat from a mig, but it's in Brackley, and although I could do with a day out, the 280 mile round trip is beyond my financial means at the moment. :(

So I was wondering if anyone was travelling up from there to Leeds and would have room to transport it for me?

Alternatively, I have a tentative offer of transport from Bromwich to Leeds on Sunday, if I can get it to BlackViper90210 by Saturday

Car Parts, bits For Sale & Wanted / Carbon Fibre Steering Wheel
« on: 27 January 2014, 18:04:59 »
Removed from my MV6.
Not an original - may have come from a Vectra ST - so I was told...
Has radio control buttons, and if you collect, there is the airbag to go with it - can't post the airbag, tho.
Carbon fibre effect is faded and a little bubbled in places, but still looks good.
It's a little smaller than the standard mig wheel, as well.

Pictures to follow, when my camera batteries have charged  ::)

£30 ono + delivery (which will be £1.50 to UK if you have a local shop which does the UPS store2store collection/delivery service).

General Discussion Area / business bank accounts?
« on: 08 December 2013, 20:54:02 »
I'll be setting up a ltd company in the new year.
Just selling a few bits.
"Bigegg Independent Traders"

Already got a yellow three-wheeler (til I put the other wheel back on the transit  ;D )

Any way, I need a business bank account.
Does anyone have any recommendations?

cheap is better, but not the most important - service, reliability and decent online is paramount, don't mind paying a bit extra for that.

I am repairing a reclining chair for a friend.
The transformer which powers the recliner motor and massage/heater is busted.
It is a standard iron cored toroidal transformer rated 12v 3A AC

Would I be able to substitute a 0-50W electronic low voltage lighting transformer?
I'm specifically looking at a YT50L from "varilight", because it is specced 0W output - if the motor, massager and heat pads are off, there is just a small LED to show power is connected -and I'm not sure what the failure mode is.

I don't know enough about electronic transformers to know if they can be used on inductive loads - or only resistive.
