Found similar with my 2.6, occasionally it would take ages to change up. Other times it would change up and down like a sports car. I'd guess first step is check oil level and condition. Mine was fine but I reckon the box behaves like this as it controlled by computer and is adaptive. I find sometime I have to take revs up to 5500rpm and then it will change up.

It happens at a lower speed. Usually just under 50mph ime.  :y

Now you say that i think it is same on senny, about 50. I do get a drop in rpm about then, wasn't sure if it it slotting into 4th and then lock up came a bit later.

On my old senator A, and my current senny B you feel the TC lock about 60 65 does the omega box do the same? I certainly cant feel anything or a noticeable drop in revs. It's 2.6 02 plate i have. I believe this gives a mechanic lock between engine and box.

Doen't sound too healthy addy, been up glennifer braea and all other hills around here and never had oil light come on (Fe%&in jinxed that now wait you see 😃 )

The plug that goes onto the maf (i think) was broke, i knew about this but it still slotted it quite firmly, is now tie wrapped tight into the plug & loanbehold the light on dash (eml) is now out!

Nope I had the plug off the throttle sensor I think so no wonder it wasn't working. Anyway the fault cleared - for a while - now it is back on. I will take off the MAF plug this time and see what happens.

The dimmer didn't work in my other estate and the instrument lights were permanently bright which never bothered me as such. but one day whilst switching on the lights a load of smoke poured out of the switch with the result that the lights wouldn't work again as there is some short direct to earth somewhere behind the dash. but I'm none the wiser as to where it may be and I resorted to connecting the instrument lights to another circuit (bodge). but it was the quickest time ever for me when it came to disconnecting the battery  :o.

Having got the car to run properly, now comes the MOT challenge - holes in both rear cills. Here is the offside cill. Is it worth saving?


Is that an upward dent in the sill where the hole is or an actual indent that is meant to be there?

Doesn't look too bad for fixing. Small plate would cover that.

Mine has that ominous looking crust along the bottom lip of the jacking point so I'm probably looking at similar when I take my sill covers off.

The trouble with artificial sweeteners is that some have Aspartame in them and that has carcinogenic properties.

I'd read that your body cant properly process it and it stores it in such places as fat in your brain and it slowly builds up and turns into a poison.

If you are getting teen mpg out a 2.2 4 pot  wouldn't you be better making it worthwhile for that mpg and shoehorning a 460ci v8 there? :)

I had same issue with my 26, thought it was crank sensor but turned out to be multiplug under air intake bellows, the clip had broken off while doing timing belt last year, i pushed it home and it never caused problem, until now. Just tie wrapped it tight for now so it is right home.

have you checked under the pass seat, see if its wet there. as found a floor pan rubber on mine that would let water in going though the wet stuff. and pooled at the front foot area. but it was the floor rubber seal. removed it and cleaned it round. and put sealant around the rim and put the rubber seal back in, not done it since.

I did have a wet rear floor at one point, i reckoned it was water from front running back, as car was parked uphill a wee bit,  usually parked on a downhill slope. I dont use it in rain if i can help it, so not much chance to see but will check those plugs next time im under.

WD wouldn't be a great idea.  Switch cleaner might, but don't get any on the visible front

How come, not good for modern pots is it? It was an old trick used for dry pots in old radios and the like, seemed to work. just a light scootch though not waterfall wd40!

I noticed this leak starting again yesterday as there was a lot of precipitation the last few days. Basically I shimmied under the passenger side of dash and caught this:



I then checked the drain under scuttle and it was clear. It must be running down to this what looks like heater air intake or motor section.

Oddly enough this happened when giving the car a bit of a tanking, realised it was probably just the Gs doing it, but when you roll the wheel up and down it doesn't dim, just flickers a bit. Guessing need to take light switch unit out and give the pot a dash of WD?
