I think there must be a cycle sharing scheme going on round here as people just seem to dump them near to where they want to be[after having "borrowed"it in the first place]and then it's ready for the next person to "borrow" to get near where they want to be ;D ;D

General Car Chat / A bit sudden
« on: 11 July 2017, 18:38:45 »
Been in one of those Ford Edges today[not my kind of car and apparently shedding value like there's no tomorrow]Anyway got in, started, into drive, handbrake off and away we went all fine so far.Got to destination put it in park and engine cut before I could even put handbrake on let alone press the stop button!! I know we're all supposed to be responsible tree huggers saving the fluffy polar bears these days but even so it seems to me a bit sudden for that stop/start business to kick in.

As I understand it on the earlier cars you could go up from below the bumper, however on the face lift cars you have to go through the grille[which means breaking it]More knowledgeable folk will confirm this/shoot me down in flames for being wrong.

Sometimes get leg cramp but not that often and it's just a case of rubbing them until it goes away. What I do get very regularly[probably due to work]is hand cramp,my fingers curl into varying positions and my hand "hooks"at the wrist. This is painful while it's actually happening but once they're "set" there's no pain and after a few minutes everything eases and it's back to normal.

Considering I started this thread,I didn't go :D The Elite is still broken[it's only been like this about a year and a half ::)]and is busy in the lock up garage being totally ignored :-X.I just didn't fancy a 200ml round trip to go as a "visitor"and not part of the display.Hope it was a successful event though :y

I once stopped [not sharply or hard]behind another car-I was in the Senator-who'd stopped behind some parked cars to allow an oncoming vehicle to pass when there was a bump, bump thud at the back of the Senator.A look in the rear view mirror showed a cyclist sliding down the rear window and off the boot lid.Happily he was unhurt and simply said I'd stopped too quickly for him[he was taking part in some kind of road race I assume as he had a bib affair on with a number on it]Anyway there were no recriminations on either side,no injuries and only a buckled front wheel on his bike where he'd hit the towbar.I'm always prepared to hang back and await a safe passing opportunity when it comes to cyclists I have no wish to cause injury to anyone by impatience.

General Discussion Area / Windows update
« on: 09 July 2017, 20:15:31 »
Just had some kind of notification that I need to update my privacy settings before windows creators can do an update. When the computer was first set up and for installation of windows 10 my granddaughter did all the necessary stuff, she's not available for the next couple of weeks,so if I try this privacy settings bit is there anything I can get wrong that'll lose everything that's on the computer or cause me other problems?

Way back in the mid '70's when I was married my wife as she was then went to a neighbours one evening to have her hair done and I promptly fell asleep on the sofa. When she returned she woke me with the question "Do you like my new hairstyle?"A quick glance from me through half open eyes and I said "No".She didn't talk to me for three days!! It was sheer bliss ;D
