Due to a lazy driver's door lock, (only works on deadlock), I require a driver's door solenoid. Anyone got a good one lying around please? :y

If anyone has one of these I would be grateful for a PM with price. Had some cosmetic paint work done on wings and they left it unsecured, which allowed the front NS wheel to trim it down in size. Gurrrr.
He's offered to 'look at it', but VX say they are unavailable (at £48 +VAT!)

Car Parts, bits For Sale & Wanted / Wanted door strip
« on: 21 December 2009, 15:58:14 »
Hi All, I need a door buffer strip for the rear O/S door of my '99 CDX Estate (non-colour matched). The front edge has popped out and now catches the front door rear edge, so chrome strip is bent also.

Thanks.

A very dear friend, who lives on her own in a remote Yorkshire village, has to replace her Passat which keeps letting her down. She is thinking of a Kia Sportage for the 4WD due access issues last winter. Does anyone know anthing about these, or had experience? Any info would bbe helpful. :y

There is an ad for wishbones on e-bay for £49 which claim to be new "Manufacturer Vauxhall/Opel" Sounds fishy to me at that price. :-X

Give me one good reason why I should not junk the ones I replaced with Lemforders yesterday. I have rescued the poly bushes from the front for future use. :y

General Car Chat / WIM visit & Thanks to Entwood
« on: 02 June 2011, 17:48:00 »
Another excellent visit to WIM, this time with the Elite. Some difficulty with the rear o/s track rod, but geometry Technician Peter did a splendid job, I also had two Conti Sport Contact 3's fitted to the rear. I had not really pushed the car so far, but had a bit of fun on the return on the back roads, and it handles beautifully. I finished the day off with a visit to Chez Entwood, who very kindly pointed out useful bits of the car which may, in the future, require my attention. He also gave it a test drive and checked for codes - none stored - so we can head North next week in good shape. Thanks very much Nige.

General Car Chat / Omega Elite, LPG
« on: 01 June 2011, 20:54:51 »
I met a guy today with a beautiful 3.0 Elite in Red, 'S reg, with all the Irmscher goodies on it, he thinks he may have bought it from someone on the forum. He has had the LPG done for £1100 by a firm in Wales: http://www.professautogas.co.uk/?gclid=CMO52bi9lakCFQUe4QodrxZJdw and is very pleased with their work, and follow up inspections. They claim to suck out the swarf as the they drill the manifold (???) He reckons he has only lost about 20 miles for the same amount of fuel. He also mentioned insurance and registration. Are there any problems in this area with DIY fits?
