I was expecting American 'trash television' but I found it  surprisingly watchable. :y

General Car Chat / Waterless coolant.
« on: 06 October 2013, 18:42:35 »
Car nut Jay Leno has been banging on about using only 'waterless coolant' in his car collection.

He claims there is no corrosion as there is no water in the cooling system. He also claims that his  cars will never overheat, because  waterless coolant has a boiling point of something like 180 degrees centigrade.

He also claims that there is no need to change the coolant during the life of the car.

Is he talking crap?

General Car Chat / Everyone used to say......

.......if you're changing the cambelt on a V6 Omega, then change the water pump while you're at it........So I did, £330 (reduced from over £500) All done by  Vx after pleading poverty. ;D

People don't seem to  say that so much these days. Why?

General Discussion Area / Eye ...eye.
« on: 18 September 2013, 18:02:13 »
I've just this minute returned from having  the cataract in my left eye removed.

Not an unpleasant operation, but weird and a little surreal.

I was the youngest person there by a good couple of decades. :) ;D

General Car Chat / I wonder how many people are aware of......
« on: 18 September 2013, 13:35:19 »
.......how long their cars have been manufactured before they're registered?

Thanks to ' The Jimbob Detective Agency' I've discovered that my MV6 was more than 18 months old before it was actually registered.

I reckon that most of the general public believe that their NEW CAR has literally rolled off the production line only minutes before they take ownership.

General Car Chat / Date of Omega production?
« on: 17 September 2013, 20:06:08 »
Is there any way of finding out when a specific Omega rolled off the production line?

In a thread in the Omega gallery Mr TB seems to have done just that. :y

It's a wonderful new day out there today.

I'm not wealthy ( although I'm exceptionally good looking), so Why am I always so unceasingly cheerful? .... :y :y :y :y

General Car Chat / Annoying noisy wipers.
« on: 11 September 2013, 19:35:18 »
Is there anything that I can do to make the wipers less noisy?

I've repeatedly shouted "shut the f*ck up" but it makes no difference.

The wipers are new and the screen is spotlessly clean, but unless the heavens open and the rain comes down  with biblical fury, the wipers still groan and moan as they wipe the screen.

Any ideas, chaps?
