Omega General Help / Re: Is this ATF ok...

Thanks for all your help men 👌 checked diff and oil was beautiful and clean and at the right level so just left it 👌 atf changed and running well 😀

Next thing. Passenger exhaust manifold leak 🤦‍♂️ It goes away once warm but I know it’s a pig of a job. I’m wondering if it could be the SAI pipe. Who knows. That’s for another day 👍

Ps do Gates do a cambelt kit for 2.5 v6? Can’t seem to find correct one online. I don’t like these contitech ones.

So I’ve gone with the link I put. Fully synth dex 3 comma stuff. Just due to time constraints 👌

Omega General Help / Is this ATF ok...
« on: 31 May 2021, 19:37:04 »
Hi guys. Checked my oil level in my omega (has the ar25 box) and it’s low. So I thought I’ll do a change. I usually use the carlube dex3 but can’t get hold of that in time. I can however get this...

https://www.halfords.com/motoring/engine-oils-and-fluids/gearbox-oil/comma-atf-and-power-steering-fluid-5l-262423.html?istCompanyId=b8708c57-7a02-4cf6-b2c0-dc36b54a327e&istFeedId=367c5610-f937-4c81-8609-f84582324cd6&istItemId=xxxpqq&istBid=t&_$ja=tsid:94971%7Ccid:865695751%7Cagid:43902126655%7Ctid:aud-1122146652209:pla-327721643933%7Ccrid:202397318376%7Cnw:g%7Crnd:10614961453609681672%7Cdvc:m%7Cadp:%7Cmt:%7Cloc:1006959&gclid=Cj0KCQjwktKFBhCkARIsAJeDT0hBNql-kcci1Ng5CJ6uL8KZ4C_Dtl2RcZ_GOfovnXprdmpT2t8nGzUaApbCEALw_wcB

Would this be good to use. It says suitable for dex2 and dex3 and is fully synthetic. Your thoughts...

Cheers boys 😘😘😘

Goooood evening gents. Hope you’re all well. As above, there was a link knocking about for cat back systems on the inter web. Would someone mind posting the linky? I got a whacking great hole in centre box and back box is looking ropey as hell 🤣
TIA 👌😎

Has anyone had an entire column off before. Looks fairly straight forward apart from the crap with the shear bolt. I’ve had airbag off and everything looks accessible

Got identical issue. Watching with interest.

I’ve had airbag off, lower trim etc, checked steering wheel nut tightness and all good.

General Car Chat / MG TF exhaust back box...
« on: 29 September 2020, 20:36:37 »
Hi guys. I’ve never worked on one of these sheds before except for maybe a service. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️
Got to replace rear back box on one tomorrow. I’ve had it in the air last week (but part wasn’t immediately available so he’s dropping off tomoz) and nuts securing back box to catalytic converter are not even nuts / studs anymore so they’ll be getting cut off. However I’m curious to know if rear bumpers gotta come off. Looks tight to me. It’s no issue either way but as say just curious to know if it will slide in or bumper off. 😃😃😃😃

Ok I was just thinking it would be a panel that I’d simply cut out and weld new one in. Clearly it’s a lot more difficult than I imagined. And being totally honest sounds a bit out of my skill set. I can weld and have welded the odd plate in here and there for mot repairs but normally my welding is exhaust hangers and exhaust repairs. But this sounds a lot shittier than that. Got a lot to think about. But thanks so much for the info guys. Legends as always 😘😘😘
