My old garage we fitted a lot of Uniroyals. Having seen a lot of cars come back over a few years o can say they were noticeably quicker wearing.
That’s a generic observation tho. But I suppose if they’re excellent in comfort there must be a compromise somewhere 🤷‍♂️

Thanks DG. No bling required 🤣 just factory. Does anyone know what the original colour was ? Or what would be a close to original look?

Evening all.

I may have asked this in the past (sorry if I’m repeating myself) but what paint can I use to brighten up the intake plenum. What colour and type of paint ?
I want original look. I think it was originally a light grey. But I’ve seen some that are a lot whiter 🤷‍♂️

Ah, Webby returns :y, you were the subject of conversation last weekend in the local curry house with Mr Gixer ;D

Out of interest, you still got my cam lock/timing kit?  I'm in no hurry for it back, but I appear to have mislaid it, and think it was you who last had it ;D

Oh god, nothing sinister I hope 🤣🤣🤣

Sell the fiesta. Get an LPG kit for the omega with the money and use it as your daily

Assuming you have LPG nearby. I think you do, near you :y

Thanks James. That is a great idea but…

Seeing how retro this car is now (I haven’t seen one on the road for at least a couple of years and I actively look out for them!) I want to reduce the mileage and have it for holidays, nice sunny days and shows now.

Last year I took it to the festival of the unexceptional. Fekkin brilliant day out.

Thanks Tig.

It wasn’t particularly fun I’m gonna be honest. Working all the hours god sends and then trying to motivate myself to go out and lay in the dirt for hours. Not fun. But it’s done now and am very pleased.

Got to look in to some sort of storage solution for the car. But for now gonna enjoy what little summer we have left with my omega 🥰🥰🥰

… is back on the road after a year of being SORN’d. Had a shed load of welding to do. Got it MOT’d today and taxed… £341 for the year 🤢

It’ll be doing a lot less miles now as I have a little fiesta as my daily. It’s currently on 135k.. barely broken in 😃

The drive compared to the fiesta is just so comfortable. Absolutely worth keeping it going!

and yes you may find that the boot water is from rot behind the bumper, lip seal ,tail lights or sometimes they can rust though the double skinned bit between bottom of rear window and the drain channel.

Thanks cam. The water is sat in spare wheel well. It seems to emanate from the shock tower. But rather than dripping down from the top, it just seems to be from the bottom. So I’m hoping I’ll have sorted that when I weld it up. But who knows 🤣 this car has a habit of taking one repair and adding extra ones Willy nilly haha
