It was my grandad's car, I inherited it last year before I could drive! Learnt especially for it - so I suppose it's my first car ;)

Do you know why the heater trim is black and the gear surround is wood or is it the difference between cd and cdx  :-[

You may see it around Ashford if you're lucky :P

Not sure why the trim is black, would be good to see if other CD versions have it as well.

Trim being black is simple - CD on that age doesnt have climate control, just air-con. (whoih was standard on Omega, and fairly unusual for a car to have standard air-con at that time) Any model with 'just' air con has black plastic trim, climate gets wood (or later also carbon on MV6)

an aftermarket Irmscher kit did offer a wood trim for the dash, so it's not impossible to see a non-CC car with wood dash, though very very rare.  :y

I spent my teenage years reading Vauxhall car brochures, instead of interacting with women.


It's been mostly completely mis-spent, but occasionally it pays off.  :D
