That's about £1,500 wiggle room then... might offer them £4,500 for shits and giggles :D

I've bought at TCP four or five times now, there is virtually no negotiation on the price. They'll up the trade in offer and mess around with the finance, but hardly ever anything off the sticker price.

£3750 they gave me:

Fact of life really. I'm not excluding the markup, but they do have to pay VAT on the difference between buy & sell price, so the profit is "only" 80% what you think it is.  :-X

I thought you said you were pleased with what they offered you. That it was more than you thought. :)

Anyway......£6000 for a 5 year old 1.4 Astra seems overly optimistic to me.

Can't imagine a 1.4 litre Astra presented in 'poverty spec' and finished in a colour that may offend the more sensitive amongst us is worth more than £4000. :)

I stuck it into parkers and they said £3400. WBAC offered £3150, so I was quite pleased with £3750. I never expected them to ask nearly six grand for it but, you know, that colour..... :-* :-*

Are you suggesting the colour has added a couple of grand to the price? :o :o :o :o :o

Six grand is a ridiculous figure. I think they will soon realise they have this wrong.

Expect a big reduction.
