This week tho as its got colder ive turned the timer on so it comes on in the mornings as well ....

I hope it was only a lightweight shower proof jacket (kagoul) type. Not a full on winter type.

Ummm nothing....the boiler will just work harder getting the room temp to 21c  At the moment it just ticks over using very little gas...

my point was that rather than acclimating to the gradually cooling autumn weather, you're setting yourself up for feeling cold whenever you go outside for the rest of the winter

We had to replace our 35 year old double glazing recently and fitted triple glazing for only 8% more than double. Difficult to assess exactly how much as SWMBO requires more heating at her age, but I am still paying less than previously.
