Omegas abroad
« on: 25 November 2017, 09:26:20 »

Currently in Poland on me holibobs.

I came here ten years ago and though I didn't have an omega it was the car I wanted. I therefore looked out for them and to say there were shit loads was an understatement.

Ten years on I've been here for 3 days and I've counted 5.

One pfl burgundy estate
Three star silver (lol) omegas. Two fl estates, one fl saloon in 2.6 guise.
One dark coloured pfl estate.

Really surprised. I expected to see shed loads

They are now a 14 - 23yr old car, so they will start to get rarer...

There was one being used as a taxi. Very nice condition too. If I had needed a taxi I'd have jumped right in 😂

However majority of taxi drivers have new to newish Audis. I expected most to be omegas lol

I have just come back from Australia. Holden ceased production while we were out there :'(

Holden Commodores everywhere.

Old - poverty spec station wagons with a 3.6 litre V6 (or was it 3.8 :-\) look just like a 14 year old Omega estate.

Commodore SS saloons and pick ups have 4 tail pipes and a 5.7 or 6 litre V8  :y :y :y

Looking on Auto Trader last night and noticed that traders are quoting "future classic" on their adverts more, then asking 2k for a bog standard GLS ;)

Not so many here in Spain but still see them from time to time. Any car running with an MOt fetches at least 1000 euros here. The government have occasional scrappage schemes which seem to see off most of the older cars.

you do know that future classic actually means the car is already rusty and the engine sometimes doesn't work?
