Aye, the top bolt at the rear can be a challenge!

Done a couple now, repaired as per Mark and Kevin's guide on here.

I did mine in a field with borrowed tools... Didn’t find it to be as bad as I was expecting TBH

Repaired it with instructions from the Master

He was quite rude when I started talking about replacing the whole unit instead of repairing it ;D

If the alternator goes in the car I have now then it will be looking for a new owner as I wont be repeating that same task when I replaced the one in my 3.2 end of..

About 75-90 minutes including the regulator pack swap if you’ve borrowed tools (and put LPG stuff in the general vicinity too ::);)

But that did include tea ;D

I ended up doing it 4 times during my Omega ownership, despite vowing never again after the first time.  ::)

It's actually fairly straight forward, but the first time is a nightmare!  ;)

Got two thirds of one here :D

But given that a blind monkey scratching its arse could change the alternator in about five minutes flat, it probably won't help ::)

Got two here - An Elite saloon in Star Silver and the project MV6 estate in red. I seem to have used the OOF logo as a buyers guide  ::)

Pity I didn't take photos when I did my alternator regulator.............
