Storms and snow
« on: 27 December 2017, 08:22:27 »

Anyone caught up in or had any damage?

I really feel for anyone caught up in the stoppage on M1 south jct19 or indeed any of theknock on from jctns being closed. I bet m69 fosse park Leicester jct 21 is a nightmare.

We had a few flakes of snow here in Hampshire/Surrey which means that everyone will suddenly go in to pillock mode.  Cue the rear fog lights, driving down the middle of dual-lane roads and a general failure to clear lights and windows of frost and melting snow.

Oh the joys of living darn sarf.

Only our sixth day of rain since start of September, it is horrible walking the dog and washing mud off later

I was out with the dog, in the sleet and snow, at 8:30. Got soaked and it was freezing cold. Got in about half nine and the sun came out. Typical.  :(

Drove home from daughters in early hours of this morning, (only a few miles, thankfully). Water everywhere across the  roads. Texted granddaughter to warn her, she got home safe too.

In chicago now, -17C and a few inches of snow on the ground.  Everything is still running but the signs on the pavement which say "watch out for falling ice" are a little disconcerting.

Look on the bright side, if you get clipped your wife could be $4.8m richer: https://www.corboydemetrio.com/success-45

Well I'm here looking at neighbourhoods for a future eventual move so I wont be spending long in the smoke.  I am still looking up while walking along the street though.

Avoid the ones we drove through doing Route 66 .. well, I mean I know you're military trained but unless you want to use those skills on a daily basis... just judging by how they looked!
