Stereo stopped working / display & lights...
(1/1)
JDX:
Got in the car this morning - the stereo outer lights are on, so are the lights for the stereo controls on the steering wheel and the dash display has stopped showing the date. The stereo is now not working.
Fuses all seem OK....I'm thinking take the stereo out first. If it has a problem, would it effect the display?
Any thoughts please...
TheBoy:
I wouldn't, in the first instance, pull the stereo out for a couple of hours to reset it
JDX:
I've taken the stereo out but things are not going well :-[ ::)
The battery is flat, I'm guessing because the stereo issue drained the battery ( which is only a few weeks old )
& now I've pulled the bonnet release cable too hard & snapped the cable. Alas, it's not the lever, the cable is snapped & can be pulled into the car.
I've had better days!! Ho hum.....
So the bonnet...I've seen the post about breaking the grille to gain access...is this the only way of getting the bonnet open?
If so, I might go back to bed.... :o
TheBoy:
Ah, if the radio never turned off, and thus flattened battery, start with the W contact on ign switch
