New lease of life
« on: 22 May 2018, 13:43:27 »

Being able to do a lot of the basic servicing on the Merc has given me a new interest in cars.

Could do very little myself on the Insignia.

Only 4 things to do now on the Merc, atf change, fuel filter change, rear diff oil change and brake fluid change.

Any volunteers for the latter? :D

Nice one, all easy stuff, but better than spending money for someone else to do it.

Yep, with the added benefit of knowing it's been done properly.

Then if you get bored you can start cleaning the engine bay - see if you can get it up to the standard of your old Desmond. :y

An Easibleed or vacuum pump does away with the need of a glamorous assistant   :y

I know some one that uses his Pela oil sucker to vacuum bleed his brakes .... never tried it yet myself  :-\

All, apart from the fuel filter require getting on my back, can't do that anymore.

Although the fuel filter is self priming, I don't trust myself to do it.

I'm the other way around. I've got a compressor driven brake bleeder (which is great BTW) and then I change the pipe and use it for....
PS Fluid
Oil
Re-priming awkward (older) style diesels
Brake/clutch fluid
