Any sufferers? I'm not actually sure if I'm suffering from it, as the know-all in the corner tells me that it could be lots of other things. I've heard it called 'ringing' in the ears, but mine is more of a 'whistle', a bit like a 1KC tone from a scope. Been about a week now, more noticeable at night, obviously.
Check out the British Tinnitus Association at https://www.tinnitus.org.uk/all-about-tinnitus.  It is most unlikely to have been caused by cleaning your ears in the past, albeit that you should never use anything smaller than an elbow to clean inside your ears.

Different people hear different things.  I first noticed mine when I realised the wind noise while driving didn't stop when the car did.
