How interchangeable are front seats?
« on: 20 June 2009, 20:24:28 »

Well, as it says on the tin..

I've counted off the top of my head..
- obviously you have an airbag on the wrong side,
- controls for tilt, rake, and height are wrong.
- electric ones same thing, controls on wrong side.

however surely the internal frame is interchangeable/the same. But what stops you fitting the backrest and squab off, say, the left seat onto the base of the other side?

Has anyone tried this? I ask because a saab seat I have kicking around has a plastic cover on the base, which hides a spline for another backrest knurled wheel. That seat could be adapted for either side with ease.

Looks like this has everyone stumped!!!

I'll get a spare seat at some point, and have a play. I'll let you all know the results... no matter how unsuccessful I am!!  ::)
