Hmm. :-/
Main reason for the horrid bonnet bulge seems to be the stupid cone filter (right behind the radiator) and the pointless "fake cam covers" that appear to be designed to make a single cam pushrod engine look like a DOHC per bank.
He might have given it all a bit of a clean before fitting it too. That engine looks like it's spent a few years sitting in a field, and it's an odd choice. I'd be going for one of the LS series V8s for a bit more tuning potential.
In summary, he's completed all the easy parts of the project (not desperately tidily) and there's just the small matter of the exhausts and wiring to do.
Could take an Omega and an engine and get as far as he has in a decent weekend IMHO. Then again, for 500 notes you would probably have a fun project on your hands.
