Has anyone ever thought about sticking and a BMW M3 3.2 straight 6 in? After all the 2.5 diesel goes in nicely ;D

concerning. Seems more important to fit a cone filter and a fancy grill than sort out the electrics, which is where i would start, or get someone else to start more likely, if the electrics dont work no point even starting the project imho. That much work deserves a good example car and lump.

this project needs
1. a full bank account
2. a good knowledge of electric+mechanic
3. and easy access to some kind of mod shops
to finish.. ;D

and imho omega is not a lightweight car..

so needs 500+  hp for good results..

Hmm.  :-/

Main reason for the horrid bonnet bulge seems to be the stupid cone filter (right behind the radiator) and the pointless "fake cam covers" that appear to be designed to make a single cam pushrod engine look like a DOHC per bank. ;D

He might have given it all a bit of a clean before fitting it too. That engine looks like it's spent a few years sitting in a field, and it's an odd choice. I'd be going for one of the LS series V8s for a bit more tuning potential.

In summary, he's completed all the easy parts of the project (not desperately tidily) and there's just the small matter of the exhausts and wiring to do. :D

Could take an Omega and an engine and get as far as he has in a decent weekend IMHO. Then again, for 500 notes you would probably have a fun project on your hands.

Remember this is a HOLDEN V8 you guys..

Anyone wanting to fit a V8 into their Omega is
best advised to obtain a genuine USA Chevy/GM V8.
Parts are easily available from UK suppliers, or can be
ordered from these suppliers.

Unlikely that a Chevy V8 would need bonnet scoop, unless you are
fitting hi-rise inlets, or superchargers etc...

Then again, spend your money on your Omega  V6 engine, it has a
good design of inlet manifold etc and is a perfectly good base engine
for modifying ...

in my opinion for a good result 0-60 timing must be below 5 seconds otherwise even some japanese coke cans will let you in dust :D ;D :y
