Easy way to tell:

Pre mini facelift - Sqaure Headrests with big gap in the middle

Mini facelift - Solid head rests + leccy window buttons next to gear stick.

Facelift - Window buttons on the door

Right  my VIN ends in a W

and it has solid headrests and it has electric window buttons next to gearstick.

So we now know Mini Facelift elites were made from NOVEMBER 1997 onwards.

It maybe different for Spain, i have never seen a 97 plated Omega here being mini-facelift. Only from R plate onwards which is 1998

Spain has nowt to do with it, It is a vauxhall UK RHD car and used to have an R plate and it was Nov 97. Didn't the letters (R) run from August to July in those heady days?

Now it has the same plates as a three and a half year old Spanish car!

Ahh yes sorry its was Aug 97, so yours must have been one of the very first, as i do remember having a project car which was R reg but pre-mini facelift

Model year tends to start from the new reg, so MY98 is likely to cover August 97 to August 98 (obviously, previous year models may be kicking around in the system for a while as well)

will the facelift front and rear bumber fit on a prefaceift?
obviously it would mean changing the bonnet too right?

Can be fitted but a lot of work, can't really see the point.

Speak to Glasgow Jim.  I think thats what he did with his silver one, including facelift door bump strips in body colour.....   ;)
