I plan every few changes, to drain it via the sump plug, but there are 10,000 screws holding the small front undertray one...  ...which has to come off to get the wngine/gearbox undertray off, to get to sump plug.

10,000 screws is quite a lot, are you sure its 10,000 or are you exaggerating.  ;D

Perhaps not 10 000 but.... the front screws will be rusted corroded into the crossmember and the rear ones will just spin the tin plate captive nut around and around.

Last (and only, so far) I had front one off, I did put a dab of grease on each before refitting to hope they won't corrode too bad.  One of my engine/gearbox undertray ones spins.  Clearly a dealer/garage had trouble, as they have cut a slit in the plastic, so it can be slid in/out.

So, yes, you're spot on ;D

You wouldn't believe the number of undertrays that are attached with cable ties.

Or that have been stitched back together like this arch liner:

Had another attempt at removing the NCDC unit from the dash but can now confirm that it was welded in at the factory.  ::)

I only want it out to find out if the mute pin to telematics wiring behind the glovebox is complete, not much to ask is it.  >:(
I've tried what appears to be decent double din removal tools, I've tried the same tools with a thin layer of tape around for grip, I've tried ball end Allen keys but it won't budge. The nearest it came to moving was when I nearly ripped the fascia off the lower part.  ;D

Should add that I've removed these units with ease on my previous Omega, my daughters Corsa and my Dad's Vectra but this one ain't playing ball. I removed all of the switches up both sides of it to make sure that I was pulling outwards and sideways, wiggled and jiggled but it no come out'y.  ::)

Thanks, I did consider doing that but thought I might hook on to something delicate.  ;D  I'll have another crack at it sometime.  :y

There isn't a mute pin on the Telematics unit / loom, it's achieved via CAN bus, or did you mean the telephone prewiring for a car kit?

I've encountered one NCDC that wouldn't mute when triggered too but it was the relay / unit rather than the wiring.

Yes that's the one. I was going to have a last ditch go at finding out why the Nokia kit has never muted, even though I've got the correct Autoleads wiring. I know you have tried to assist me in the past on this Andy.  :y
I was hoping to trace the relevant wire back to the head unit, or am I chasing my tail with that one.  :-\
Does the head unit not have a mute pin to the telematics wiring plug behind the glovebox. Perhaps I've misunderstood how the system works.  :-\

Are you referring to mine? Or is that number 2 ::)
