Realised my battery was days from death as it would barely start today, coldest morning of the season so far...
Halfords - £100+
ECP - £100+
Vauxhall £35!  Thank you very much!

Well it is TC, and Offer too I think, but last battery I bought was similar from them.
I just rang for a price, they knew it was me, with a tradecard, and thats what they quoted, Plus Vat.

My Vauxhall dealer has stopped selling Jag spec oil. Grrr.  That limits the choice a bit.

Fitted the clutch master cylinder, pedal box, brake bias box (http://www.compbrake.com/product/ford-escort-mk56-brake-bias-servo-replacement-pedal-box-kit-hydraulic-dual-cylinder-kit-b-copy/) and bulkhead panel.

Still need to make the clevis & pushrod arrangement to join the bias box to the brake pedal itself, seal the sides of the bias box (IVA testers have a dim view of air-paths between engine bay and cabin) and then final-fit everything for the 12th time. Oh and mount the reservoirs, make hoses up to join them (or get them made up) and connect the brake lines to the master cylinders.

Then I might have functioning brakes :y
Mk5 Escrot might offer summat suitable... Servo is above gearbox on the nearside on RHD cars :-\

I have a Mk5 Escort servo - that's what the kit specifies as standard. The clevis is part of the pushrod into the servo, though; to fit the pedal box I've got I just need two clevises and a length of M8 threaded rod.

I have the clevises.. I'm sure I've got the threaded rod somewhere. Maybe ;D

Topped up the transmission with just under half a litre of ATF. Got the obligatory burn on my wrist from the exhaust.

Discovered that changing a Mondeo's rear brake pads is complete PITA without the tool to wind in the caliper, so I only managed to do one side this afternoon.  ::)  >:(

I have two cars and they're both out of action!  :(

You can improvise with either the clockwise tool or a pair of long nosed pliers ::)

Both require patience though...

Alternatively, I do know a friendly Lithuanian  :-X

Changed other rear brake pads on the Mondeo and found it slightly easier using a G clamp to press the piston whilst winding it in with the stilsons.  :)

So that's one back on the road and one sat on the drive.  ::)

Removed the headlight washer nozzles from the bumper and cleared them out. Quite a bit of crud/mouldy water came out but I have squirters again now. I ran the power straight to the pump so that I could watch them closely and got ........ Errr wet.  ::)
