Pollen Filter

Just changed my pollen filter and my car seems to be running like crap now.

Is there a right and a wrong way to put these in should replacing affect the performance.

Maybe a daft question but thought I would ask.

I thought the pollen filter only affected the air con.

You have disturbed something, or it is a coincidence

There is a loom running past it, has anything been dislodged off the back of the engine?

No not as far as I can see, although I shall have a proper look after work.

Sounds like a Vac pipe has been disturbed, especially if it's idling ok, but suffering while under load.  :-/

I think I may have solved my problem just checked and one of the giant jubilee clips is broken from the air intake where it joins the MAF sensor.

Shall call in at Vx on the way home, and replace to see if this solves the problem.

The car idles fine with no stalling.

That won't help.

Except vac reservoir, there is nothing near pollen filter that would cause any engine probs...

Been thinking about this myself I would have thought this would only effect the idling and if air was getting out which I am doubting you would have the EML coming up by rights due to it possibly affecting the MAF sensor which doesn't seem the case.

Shall still get the clip as it still needs replacing.

Could me putting it in the wrong way around cause problems.

May try turning it around before leaving for home, see if it makes any difference.

No definately pollen filter inside the scuttle.

Perhaps I need to have a good look at my breather system again and give the throttlebody the once over, may solve my problems.

Although this morning it was pulling quite well.

Funnily enough I missed Vx yesterday so still not done but doesn't seem to be affecting it although it needs doing.
