Philips/BOSE CCR800 & CD Changer install Help Pls
« on: 05 December 2006, 22:11:20 »

OK I currently have a CDR500 installed (1998 CD 2.0 Estate), and have just purchased a Philips/BOSE CCR800, Blaupunkt CDC2 (6 Disc changer) plus a very long cable that runs from the boot to the front of the car, this unit was removed from a Elite Saloon
Front of the Radio

Back of the Radio

CDC2 Connector

Long cable, the small plug fits into the disc changer

Here is the long connector

Ok my question am I missing something , there is a Bose Amp on ebaY at the moment does that plug into here

Any info much appreciated

Mike

You are indeed missing a Bose amp which would plug into a (blue I think) loom in the boot, I suspect this is part of the loom you have.

I think the black connector in the picture plugs into the body loom in the drivers footwell

Alas you also seem to be missing the 2 "bass drivers". These are the units that sit under the parcel shelf and have the lower frequencies filtered to them by the Bose amp.

The plot thickens even more  :)
I have just had a reply from this chap who is selling the same setup on ebay including the amp
if you look very carefully you can see the amp has a blue connector which is bundled into the loom and exits at the left of the grey connector

On mine the lefthand side is empty ?.

He has confirmed the small black connector plugs into the Disc changer

so on Friday after I have fitted the Cruise control and took loads of images :)
I will make a start on the connections and see if I can get the beast to work  :o

Yep, small connector goes into the multichanger, large black one fits into the main loom in the drivers footwell adn the blue one into the Bose amp....its starting to come flooding back a bit now....
