Cruise Control Part II
« on: 12 December 2006, 23:55:58 »

Hi,
Unit is in place, stalk is swapped still no cruise !, Just checked the brake switch 4 Cables coming out so thats correct. while I was poking my head up in the area of the brake pedal I spotted a relay strip with 1 Green relay fitted and a Black and white relay sockets empty.
Hhmm  :-?  could one of these be the mystery Cruise control relay as mentioned in Haynes manual ??.
Does anyone know what should go in these empty sockets please, I suspect 1 might be for the heater plugs for the diesel engine. I think my problem is I got the stalk and control unit off ebay so cannot confirm they work in the first place as I only have the sellers word that it was all working  :(
any assistance please ?

It will still be the brake switch.

Although you can see four wires in a connector, the switch will only have two pins.
If you have an auto its pretty safe to just connect the two wires together as the auto box detects brake press and shuts the cruise off......bit more iffy with a manual but, would prove it works.

The trailer brake light check 'relay' lives above the driver's feet somewhere, it could be one of 'em. From memory it has 4 wires in the back 2 of which are black/yellow.
