left hand or right hand maybe both
« on: 17 December 2006, 22:36:50 »

Just wondering if sound when using my cd player is supposed to come out of lh and rh speakers.
okay but seriously when using my radio (SC804 with 6 disc in boot/load area) the sound is fine on all speakers but when i switch to cd player it only comes out of lh side, does this on all 6 discs and i've tried putting other discs in and cleaning them, alas to no avail. Has any one any ideas before i remove radio/dash front to rear cable. can i do any continuity checks on f to r cable do the colours stay the same or are they checked by pin no's, or am i looking at new player.

also just out of intrest can i fit steering wheel controls that are compatible with this unit or were they only for later units

cheers for any help :y

And Merry Christmas everyone

Firstly I would check to see if there are any loose connections to the back of the radio.

My guess is if you get all round speakers with radio then to me it would possibly a probem with the cable which runs from the radio to the changer. I would be tempted to check the connection both ends and if that doesn't resolve it possibly try another known working cable (not Ideal as they can be a pig to get hold of).

Hope this helps. ;)

Cheers, i think i agree with you, trying another cable must be best bet first as connections all appear okay on head unit and player.

Does anyone know if its a standard multichange cable or are they all individual to manufacturer i.e mines a Philips so have to use a Philips cable? :-?
