Phone prewiring
« on: 27 December 2006, 19:46:24 »

Hi to everyone and I hope you all had a good Xmas so far!! ;D
My 2.2 cdx 2001 estate has a microphone built in to the centre of the front interior light so I imagined it would have the phone kit prewiring installed which all the relevant previous threads indicated should be taped to the back or top of the glove box behind the dash.  I have had a good feel around and cant find it.   Where does this prewired lead come from??Is it a seperate plug in the back of the radio(CCR 2006) or spliced into the loom??
Thanks
Rich

It should be up there, behind the glovebox. Although mine was merely like behind the kick-panel, looked like as it was going to the black box behind the kick panel. It's spliced into the loom, but you can naturally connect directly to the back of the radio. I personally still have one issue to solve with this prewired system: seems that my E50 does not give any mute-signal...

Wiring direct to the radio is my least preferred option....if i've got the prewiring I'd like to use it.....could you give me an idea how many wires are in this prewired lead so Iknow what I'm looking for
Thanks
