Markiec, you can do oil cooler easy - you know that.

Also, if it is HG, I reckon you could plod through it, and have a decent garage judging by previous photos.

Worse case, break it - Vectra SRi bits are probably rarer than Omega bits, so should be able to shift a load.

heres the update......

just spoken to the guys and completed an hpi.....picking it up tomorrow.

Car is 40000miles late 02 2.6 sri - FULL service history.

Guy had it serviced and its all documented including the £600 cost just two weeks ago.

Last week he noticed it getting misty inside and stopped, noticed temp going up too.
Took it to garage who said, head gasket(s) and oill cooler....

Just as WE suspected last night.

My one concern - if ( and its a big if i think) its hgf i would expect it to drive. It doesnt it starts, ticks over fine and dies in a few yards........

Would oil cooler cause this? ?

Oh and a 2.6 Manual - Yeeeha  ;D

I suppose a VEctra could supply an engine for an Omega

OK, it wasn't a V6, but my Batmobile had an engine out of a Calibra. The only things I really had to replace were the sump, oil pick up and the dipstick. (Actually the dipstick was the hardest piece to swap over believe it or not!!). The EGR valve was different, but a bit of spare C30SE IACV hose sorted that out without having to replace it. (Thankfully, 'cos the manifold was rusted solid!!)
