Nothing is going to match a manufacturer's specific scan tool...

Heres the udate - car paid for v5 with me and both sets of keys etc.
Decided due to the route not to tow - based on the afct i have a local garage willing to do it tonight its a 22.9mile route each way and they will do it for £45, frankly they can have the hassle.

Sooooo...had a poke about it this morning in the guys work parking place.

The car starts but is very tappety and rought - switched it back off after a few seconds.

Header tank has very little in it and whats in it is very thiick gunk - darker than mayo - no smell of fumes in it.

Oil header seems ok - no mayo at all..

dipstick shows only golden syrupy newly changed oil - nohing at all untoward.

What i did notice is that the gunk from the header tank has leaked - all over the bottom of the engine bay all over the wishbones, driveshaft and all steering gubbings at passenger side wheel ( in other words its emptied its load NOT into oil but shot straight down....) untill it gets here tonight i wont know much more but i actually think its positive so far - as in not requiring a full engine  :-/

thoughts ?
